Chill time

If you were to ask an intern how long they’ve been in Capital Interns they would probably say three months.  However, we’ve only been going a little less then a month!  From week one until now our Interns have worked tirelessly and passionately from one project and trip to the next!  Week one: Encounter & Retreat, Week two:  GCb Live, Week three: Early Church History Intensive, Week four: Washington D.C. at the National Prayer Center.

So, this week we’ll have some chill time and prep for our BIG Capital Intern YARD SALE!

And the Emmy goes to…

The Interns were divided up into teams.  The assignment was to act out an event or represent a person from early church history.  Teams were judged on three categories; creativity, custom & content.  All in all it was pretty cheesy but very entertaining at the same time! Team scores: Dan-37, Alaina-28, Sarah-26, Kenrick-24.5

Underway!!!

Our Capital Intern 08/09 year started last Thursday.  We headed out of town with some clothes, sleeping bag and a toothbrush for a few days.  The goal was to spend some time away from the noise and distractions of a normal day and focus our attention on Jesus.  From deep times of worship to meditating and study of scripture, I hope we did just that.  My charge to each Intern was to show up this weekend with a blank slate.  Leave preconceived ideas at home.  Expect God to do a new thing!  The Gospel of Luke says that with God nothing is impossible!  This is becoming our conviction.

Thank you to all involved in making our Encounter weekend successful.
